muThe first character, called Mu, is composed of an enveloping section and a lower section. The lower section means "to prevent" or "to stop" while the upper represents a warrior with a sword. In this sense, the character means that through the study of martial arts, violence can be stopped.

doThe second character, Do, means "way" or "road". This character represents your study of the martial arts; it is the path or road that you have taken to understand the essence of things.

TAEKWONDO

  • TAE Means to kick or to strike with the foot
  • KWON Means fist or to strike with the hand
  • DO Means discipline or the art of kicking and punching

    • The art of unarmed combat using powerful kicking techniques is what sets Taekwondo apart from other martial arts. Taekwondo is not only a physical exercise but also an art directed at the moral development of students.

    Position Opening:

    Taekwondo Master (Coach) Instruct or coach students in Taekwondo. Train athletes for competition. Evaluate athlete's strengths/weaknesses. Oversee&develop programs. Must have WTF/Olympic style TKD exp. Blackbelt/Master status. Must have Bachelor's degree and 1 year experience OR any suitable combination of education/training or experience, i.e. work experience for college.
